MANGA SUBMISSIONS FAQ

Please read before before contacting us
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Specifically we're looking to curate indie manga with English text.
Series, one shots and/or 4koma, in pages (preferably R>L) rather than the webtoon scroll format. We're not looking for American superhero, manhua or non manga indie styles etc

We're absolutely in love with originality! If your manga is very close to a preexisting popular series it probably will not be accepted. We want to see manga that only you can make!
If your manga is very good and we don't accept it, it may just not be a good fit for our current series, feel free to check back or join our discord to keep in touch.
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT:
Stories with bare breasts, lower anatomy or underwear that are not depicted in a tasteful way (a character walking into a museum and seeing a nude statue vs a character getting her shirt ripped off for fan service )
Gratuitous gore or torture (blood and moderate violence is fine if appropriate to the story)
Graphic sexual situations (ecchi, hentai, yaoi).
Lewd Tentacles - even as meta humor
Current events/controversy (a historical or fantasy with in-universe political intrigue is fine).
Fetish artwork.
Graphic, glorified drug use.
Underage drinking, drugs, sex etc.
Adult or visually adult characters in romantic relationships/situations with underage, and visually underage characters.

We ask that you not submit if your stories contain any of these topics because the majority of our vendor network has expressed having difficulty selling these types of books.
Series largely containing the above material will automatically be rejected.

WHAT LEVEL OF COMPLETION ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Currently we are curating pre-existing work rather than developing new titles.
Series: Ideally we'd like a completed volume or graphic novel (between 50 and 200 pages),
or several completed chapters with the plan for a full volume.
This is so we can start selling your book immediately or after light corrections.

If you have a completed one-shot, on going 4koma, several arcs or manga chapters posted online (Tapas, Webtoon, Medibang etc.), send us the link.

We do not accept novels, scripts or if you are only a writer or only have concept art!
I'M A MINOR! CAN I SUBMIT?
We ask that you specify that in your email to us.
While we don't have plans to publish minors (legal reasons) for now we're happy to give your work a look and offer tips for improvement provided when you are out of school you continue to consider us for your projects.

MY BOOK READS RIGHT TO LEFT/LEFT TO RIGHT, SHOULD I MIRROR IT?
Right to left is preferred, but we won't reject a work for being one direction or the other.
HOW DO I SUBMIT?
Email us a concise synopsis of your manga and include a link to it (tapas, webtoon, medibang etc).
Let us know if it is a series, one shot, 4koma etc ; the genre and the names of two similar popular titles (known as comps) so we have an idea of the concept.
We are currently looking for original manga that is already being worked on and released.
Please don't send a concept pitch, script etc, we are unable to help build new content at this time.

We will contact you when we can
( from a few days to a few weeks)

PERIPHERAL CONTENT SUBMISSIONS

Please read before before contacting us
We have several sections of written content that are complimentary to our manga as "edu-tainment" snacks.
Bites of info that expose our readers to all kinds of cool things out in the world!
In Japan, there is a manga for every subject, we'd like that spirit in our peripheral content.
What types of articles are you looking for?
We would like our written works to be complimentary to the manga content.
Generally : Short articles (up to 400 words)
Anime and manga are now world wide so written ideas can be too! Fresh and unique perspectives will always be preferred over a rehashing of subjects commonly seen in most other otaku related publications (KFC Xmas, for example). A series of articles or interviews around a particular subject may also be considered.
Be creative! Naturally we would love and prefer to see subjects that relate to the content of our own titles!
What age range are you aiming at?
Generally 20+ for articles, though teen aimed topics may be considered too.
While not aimed at them specifically, please keep in mind the availability to younger readers.
What are you not looking for?
Generally common sense prevails.
American comics (eg DC/Marvel) or pop culture that is completely unrelated to manga and would feel strange or jarring to our readers. Though often a different angle will work as some things cross over: lettering or paneling for example.

Specific content from other magazines like Shonen Jump, or anything that will likely trigger a cease and desist.

Current events/controversy/politics or anything obviously divisive. We would like to invite our readers to think, imagine or feel inspired, creating discussion and debate but we're not here to sew rage, hate, division etc.

18+ content - Often our articles are aimed at 20+ but please be conscious of it's availability to younger readers.

If you feel something may be a little spicy, try to make it tasteful. If you are unsure, let us know in your pitch and your reason for including it. The age range for manga is very wide and Shounen is enjoyed by kids, teens and adults.
Can I include images?
Artwork or photos are not required but let us know if you would like to include some. For an interview we would certainly like photos of the person being interviewed and their art etc. if applicable. Photos taken yourself are preferred, or someone else's used with permission (include signed document with images). For legal reasons we can't accept random internet images.
How can I get in contact?
Please email us a concise pitch outlining your idea, please include your rates and a link to samples of your work.
